EVE in Windhoek...

Last week a friend and team mate from my hockey team asked me whether I would like to help out at the bar for Eve show, and I was think why not. So, I have asked a few friends of mine as well whether they would join, and everyone was just thrilled to assist.

Yes, and if you didn't know or heard, Eve, the American Grammy Award winning rapper-songwriter, record producer and actress was in town, yes, in Windhoek, Namibia and she rocked, lol.

So, we were a fantastic crew that was working at the bar and totally enjoying ourselves. All of us had to wear those big Heineken T-shirts, well it came in quite handy later the evening as it got colder, but I settled for walking around in my white T-shirt instead, lag.

Well, we obviously had a lot of fun. We were just the bombs behind the bar and totally gave customer service, I think we would've been rich if we were to get commission, lollies. Well done my friends and I appreciate the fact that you guys were willing to help!!!

Eve's performance was fantastic and I was blown away and totally enjoyed every second of it. This girl/woman is just talented and the way she raps. Damn good.

I seriously can't wait for Eve to release a new album, 'cause I really think it's about time, but evens, her music is still good and I've totally enjoy her music still.

Till next time chickas.

Hart van Windhoek a week ago!!!

So, a week ago, Huisgenoot with some collaborating sponsors hosted the annual Hart van Windhoek festival. What a fantastic event with a lot of Afrikaans music with some great South African artist. I need to highlight the fact that I love my Afrikaans music and had a lot of fun. It was a weekend spent with family or more specifically, my aunts. Fun loving people.

The Friday night I was joined by my two aunts: Sonja and Aunt Janet. They rocked the red and blue outfits.

Here we were entering the festival area. We parked like almost a kilometer away from the entrance and had to walk all the way.

As we entered the premises, we saw this decorated tree and I just couldn't resist. It looked so fab!!!

Sonja insisted that we get some kleiner kellers for a starter. And she introduced Aunt Janet to the whole thing, lol.

They were totally having fun and enjoying every minute of the music and the artist performing. I couldn't have asked for a better crowd. We've met up with some of their friends and well, even though I was the youngest in that crowd, lol, I've totally enjoyed every second with them. These elderly people are quite some fun and damn, do they have energy?

Hart van Windhoek is a Tafel Lager sponsered event, even though you could have some other beer as well, but the most common beer at this even is Tafel lager and it was seen everywhere on the tables:

Can you see the cute face on the left of the picture below? Well, I have no idea who that is, lol. But damn, does he look hot? I wanted to take a picture of my Sonja and her friend (Helga) dancing and didn't even see him on my left, OMW!!!!

Myself, totally enjoying myself.

That was it for the Friday evening!!!  A lot of fun indeed.

The Saturday, I was joined by another aunt of mine: Bella, and boy  oh boy, if you think Friday was a lot, Saturday was even more fun. We went to the festival premises at around 15:00 as Mi Casa was up at 16:00.

We got there while Rihanna Nel was performing. This woman has a voice, I am telling you. She rocked that stage and rocked every song she performed. Well done and I am so proud to say that she's Namibia, lol.

Mi Casa was up next, and well, am not going to say much about them. They were smoking hot. I love the Trumpeter Mo-T. He is just sexy and the way he controls that Trumpet, god dammit, lol.

J'Something, lol, was completely and totally in his element again. The way this group just know how to entertain. OUT OF THIS WORLD.

I couldn't not take a pic of the 100m long  bar. This is beyond super. There was just no time to be thirsty, lol, because no need to wait to be served.

Emo Adams was here as well. This guy is just good. The way he got everyone on their feet. He was the show stopper for me. He rocked that stage and killed me with all his crazy comedy stuff and the music he performed, out of this world.

Karin Zoid and Vusi gave me what I needed, like seriously. They got me worked up in the weirdest way.

It was fun and a weekend well spent and enjoyed. Mwah!!!

 Till we see again chikas.

Team building!!!

Last week Thursday we took a break and had a team building session. The complete IT office were taken out to the Ghymkhana Horse club.

We started with a cup of coffee at the registration point and waiting for everyone to arrive. I had to get a cup of coffee just to get in the day. After everyone arrived and we got welcomed and all, we had to start with the days activities, cleaning of stabbles and paddocks, lol.

I love horses, but I have never done the cleaning part and especially also not the grooming of the horses.

The horses were beautiful and so well taken care off. The way these people love their animals.

Belinda was our photographer for the day, I love this woman eye, as she just takes beautiful pictures. Well, I also love pictures and am going to give you a bit of a preview, lol!!! I've enjoyed the day so much.

This picture I believe is a great view, great pic, thanx BB!

The instructor.

After the whole morning's interesting and fantastic horse riding and spending time with the horses, we went back to the activity room in order to go over some serious work and discussions. Very productive as well.

I thinkthat pose is a pose of exhaustion, lol. The way we struggled at points to keep our eyes open, lol. We were quite tired.

Signing and agreeing to commit to the IT values, Vision and Mission statement for the way forward.

Bronwyn joined us for a specific time during lunch and I so like this picture of her. You rock that pose dear, lol!!!

It was indeed a fantstic day and so worth the pain and exhaustion, lol.

Till next time chikas!

Hart van Windhoek festival in 10 days!!!

The "Hart van Windhoek" festival dates are the 7th & 8th of September 2012. It is like in 10 days to be exact and I really can't wait. Last year was a great success, as I've mentioned here:  HvW2011, with all the vibe about Westlive and all.

Well, this year it is going to be cheaper (Am praying that it's still going to be so successful, clean and safe, cause last year was magnificent)...

It's again going to be at the Doc Jubber sports grounds (hoem of Namibias national hockey club) in Windhoek. More than 25 artists will be performing including South African House band: Mi Casa

Mi Casa

I've raved about this band some time ago: Here, and I can't wait to see and hear them again. They've just impressed me ever since and still haven't dissappointed me.

I don't know what else the "Hart van Windhoek" organisers have planned, but I come to hear of a new performance every week and these people are also not on the original performance program, so I guess we'll be suprised. I just hope so.

Anyhoo, we'll be seeing each other at the Doc Jubber sport grounds on the 8th of September 2012.

Till later chickas.

Fashion show by Tsâtago Garoëb (Max)

A few month's ago I got an invite from a friend of mine to  a fashion show where he was colaborating. Max is a good friend of mine and I was very impressed by some of his designs some time ago.

So, I got the invite and the first thing I did was call him to congratulate him, 'cause I was actually waiting for this for quite some time. He is indeed very eccentric, eunique and extremely daring when it comes to his designs.

It's obvious that my partner in crime would've been joing me, there is just no place, event or anything that we are not the other's plus one, lol.

So, when I left my room, dressed and ready to go Uda was also wearing red.

Uda and myself on our way tot he event and as always we took a pic to add to our memories, lol.

When we got to the event, Milton (another mutual friend of us) was also dressed in red and black. It was so much fun seeing people at the fashion show supporting our dear friend Max.

Above some pictures taken before the event started.

I didn't take a lot of pictures, as my camera had some issues, so I've used my iPhone and the picture quality is just not the best. But some of the designs that stood out for me was the 4 below. Beautiful detail and well worned by the models.

It was indeed a fantastic night and can't wait to see more of the upcoming designers stuff.

Windhoek is still very small when it comes to designers hosting or show casing their designs, but believe me the talent is there and am sure that sooner or later we'll be awwwed by a lot more designers and fashion shows. Can't wait, lol.

Till later chikas.

Mwah!!!
